“DAF Social Media Poll is the first in Trinidad and Tobago, and is primarily used as a tool to inform and educate. Your contributions have kept this poll alive, and have been very important in helping us to better understand how public opinion can impact family and social life, development, governance and business. Thank you for your contributions. Please continue to contribute knowing that we can all improve society, if we work together to achieve an objective. Introduction:
On January 18th, 2011 David AM Fraser executed the fourth poll for the group DAVID FRASER’S GROUP via Facebook. This online poll was open from January 18th, 2011 to January 20th, 2011. The poll sought to collate information regarding the performance of the Peoples Partnership Government which was elected by the citizenry of The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago on May 24th, 2010.
Once again we are sharing this report with you in an effort to ensure that the facts and figures are represented clearly and openly as well as to communicate to you the importance and appreciation of your participation. As a result of your participation, we are able to better understand the vision and purpose for this group.
Furthermore our expectation as indicated in our Vision Statement remains that information hereby collated, be put into action for an improved society and improved total life experience for all citizens and residents of Trinidad and Tobago. In making such improvements we shall touch lives both locally as well as globally thereby improving lives from country to country.
This poll was formatted by way of asking the question on MANAGEMENT OF CRIME: “How would you rate government’s performance regarding the handling of Crime?” This report goes on to assess these responses.
Our Aim:
It is our aim to test the reasons for any less than desirable performance on the part of the Government in the matter of handling crime. In so doing we may be better able to understand the contributing factors which can aid in the fight against violence and gangs. With this understanding we will be equipped to decipher and then put into action what can improve the situation at hand. It is especially important to know what is driving the perception, since these are the underpinning reasons why public buy in is not higher than the figures illustrate.
It is the voice of the people that has the power to ensure positive change is implemented. It is your voice that has the power to reach the ears of those voted into office. With your opinions, perceptions as well as experience by way of your contributions to the DAF Social Media Poll, together we can impact nations in a healthier and optimal manner.
Methodology:
We collate information through every form of secure online media available to us in an effort to fulfill our aim. In so doing we are better able to assess issues as well as disseminate the said assessments in a timely fashion.
